I’ve had a good/productive weekend, with a day off Friday, and technically a day off today. I’m finding as a grown up, days off don’t necessarily translate into sleeping in, but hey, being productive makes me happy, so it’s all good!
Friday started with going into work with my hubby, who did NOT have the day off. Then to McD’s to get some breakfast for us. I had an egg white delight because I’m counting calories once again, and actually, I’m not hating life. So there’s that.
Then to Ross to find a dress for the Texas wedding reception this Thursday. Pics on that next week for sure!
THEN…a mani/pedi so that I can be vacation ready! I went with the neutral gray. I don’t know if I love it, but I certainly don’t hate it!
After my mani/pedi, I headed back to Roger’s work with Chick Fila in hand, and stayed there as we participated in our Church’s Good Friday Service. I had to wear real shoes for that, instead of flip flops, and messed up my toenail with it’s fresh coat of paint #shouldhaveknownbetter. But it’s all good, because somehow I have the best husband in the world, and he fixed if for me! Haha
After the church service, Roger and I had an appointment with H&R block to finish up our taxes before the April 15th deadline. Then to Walgreen’s to have our passport photos made, THEN UPS to have our passport applications mailed off. We are GOING to Greece, y’all!!!
THEN….as if all of that wasn’t productive enough, and perhaps because it was TOO productive, Roger and I went to Historic Fourth Ward Park for a walk on the Beltline, stoping at a restaurant in Krogg’s Street market that I just HAD to introduce Roger to: Fred’s Meat & Bread.

Saturday was a good day…much more laid back, with chores sprinkled in here and there. I finished up some designs so that I don’t have to take my computer with me on vacation #fullypresent. And I did laundry and cleaned the house–with Roger’s helps, of course.
Saturday evening, I went to a local park to have professional portraits taken. No particular reason. Just wanted some nice photos that didn’t revolve around my engagement photos or wedding photos. The same girl who did our engagement and wedding photos took my portraits…FOR FREE! So that was a blessing!
Here’s an after pic of me:
After pics, Roger and I headed to a new restaurant to try to explore our city a little more. Something I always try to do more of, but was super encouraged after reading my friend Sarah’s posts on how she is exploring her own city!
Roger and I hit up a pizza parlor near our home, and had the BEST PIZZA EVER!!! Well, it was definitely up there! Oz Pizza…they make good stuff, yo!
Then of course, it was EASTER!!!!! YAY! Christ is Risen!
I headed to church with Roger when he went at 7:30 in the am. And ya know, waking up at 6am didn’t kill me…maybe I should do it more often…use that time to workout…who knows?!
Roger did an amazing job leading worship!
After church we headed to a restaurant for Sunday lunch because homegirl was not cooking lunch to have leftovers when she’ll be out of town for the 7 days following! lol. Then home to rest, finish up some housework, and host some folks for a game night.
This morning?! Headed to the airport for vacay! Can’t wait! A post to follow next Monday with that update!
Happy Easter y’all!!!!
